Detective Inspector David McQuade said: “At about 3am on Saturday 11th October, the woman was walking from the garage on Abercorn Road down Maureen Avenue and was accosted by an unknown male who tried to drag her into a dark medium-sized car. When she resisted, a second male assaulted her by punching her in the face.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who saw the incident or a car of the kind described in the area at the time,” said the Detective Inspector.

Information can be given on the police non-emergency number 101. Alternatively, it can be provided to the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
