Police in Banbridge are appealing for information after a dog was injured in a one vehicle collision.

Constable Michael Brannigan, Banbridge Response, explained: “We received a report of an injured dog on Dromore Road at 6.55am on Wednesday, September 3.

“We believe the dog, named Colin, was hit by a vehicle which did not stop.

“The vehicle would have sustained damage, given the debris apparent
at the scene.

“Unfortunately Colin’s injuries were so serious that he had to be
put to sleep.

“This collision occurred on the Banbridge side of Ballyvalley Heights and I am asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has noticed damage on a vehicle which would normally travel this route to contact us on the 101 non-
emergency number.”
