Police appeal after stolen car is involved in crash

POLICE are appealing for information following two incidents on Wednesday night, 22 February.

Around 11.15pm police received a report of an collision on the Hall Road, Donaghcloney. A white car collided with a grey Audi A6 and drove off towards Waringstown. The male driver and passenger of the Audi sustained injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.

A short time later at 11.25pm a white Suzuki Swift was found on fire in the New Line area of Waringstown. The vehicle was subsequently found to have been stolen during a robbery at Kensington Avenue, East Belfast on Saturday, 11 February.

Police are investigating a link between the two incidents and are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or the car being set on fire to contact them in Lurgan on 0845 600 8000. In a separate incident police in Lurgan are investigating a one vehicle crash which occurred on the Ballynabragget Road between Donaghcloney and Waringstown.

The collision occurred on Tuesday night, 22 February, just before midnight. A grey Honda Civic left the road and came to rest in a field. Damage was caused to the hedgerow and a telegraph pole.

A 31 year old man sustained injuries to his face and shoulder and attended hospital for treatment.
