Police appeal after 15-year-old boy is attacked
POLICE in Banbridge are appealing for information following the assault of a 15-year-old boy in the Newry Street area yesterday (Thursday 23 August).
Around 2:30pm an unknown male in a purple T-shirt approached the young boy from behind and punched him twice in the face in an unprovoked attack. The boy was not badly injured but very shaken by his ordeal.
Some members of the public assisted the boy and police are asking them or anyone else who witnessed the attack to contact them at Banbridge on 0845 600 8000. Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
