Men in court over Larne assault

Two men appeared at Antrim Crown Court on Monday (March 9) over a serious assault in the Larne area.

They are Joel Hawthorne (23), of Longfield Gardens, Greenisland, and Jordan Brown, also 23, formerly of Carrickfergus but with an address at Chapel Road, Newry.

It relates to a serious assault on Connor Murray at a flat in the Linn Road area of the town on April 13, 2017.

Hawthorne and Brown both pleaded guilty to the offence of grievous bodily harm.

Brown further pleaded guilty to the offence of possession of an offensive weapon.

Sentencing is due to be carried out on Thursday, April 23 at Antrim Crown Court.
