Man facing child images charges

A 22-year-old man has been returned for trial to Craigavon Crown Court on charges of making and having indecent photographs of children.

Diarmuid Joseph John Keyes, whose address was given as Centenary House, Victoria Street, Belfast, appeared at a preliminary enquiry last Wednesday at Craigavon courthouse.

He was charged that on January 18 last year he made an indecent photograph of a child and there are also 15 more similar offences before the court.

Keyes faces three charges of possessing an image of a child which is of such a nature it is prohibited under the Coroners and Justice Act.

He is further accused that on August 21 last year he was in possession of an extreme pornographic image.

Keyes was remanded on his own bail of £500 to appear for arraignment before Craigavon Crown Court on December 1.

Conditions of his bail are that he is not to have any contact with any person under the age of 18 and he must not have any device which can access the internet.

The holding charges were withdrawn and at the time he appeared in court on those charges his address was given as Hillcrest Manor, Craigavon.
