Man dies after Limavady crash

A man has died following a collision between a car and lorry this afternoon.

A spokesperson for the PSNI said: “Police can confirm that a man has died following a two vehicle road traffic incident that occurred on the Broad Road, Limavady on Tuesday, March 18.

“The road traffic incident occurred at approximately 2:20pm and involved a Peugeot 306 and a Volvo lorry. A male passenger in the car also involved in the incident was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment to his injuries.

“The Broad Road remains closed and diversions are in place at the Cashel Road and the Dunhill Road junction. Diversions are also in place at the Killane Roundabout and motorists are advised to expect delays in the area.

“Police would appeal to anyone who witnessed the road traffic incident or who was travelling in the area at the time to contact Limavady Police Station or the Collision Investigation Unit at Steeple Police Station on 0845 600 8000.”
