Man beaten with iron bars

A MAN was tied up and beaten with iron bars by two masked men at his home in Banbridge last night.

The Resevoir Road victim was taken to hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Following the assault the men made off in the occupant’s black BMW car which was found burnt out a short time later in the Halfway Road area. The two men were described as being in their late 30s or early 40s.

Police would ask anyone who may have witnessed anyone acting suspiciously in the Reservoir Road area or the Halfway Road area on Thursday December 15 to contact CID in Mahon Road on 0845 600 8000.
