Man (37) faces child sexual grooming allegations

A 37-year-old man has been charged with sexual communication with a child and meeting a child following sexual grooming.

Richard David McCrea, whose address was given as Barban Heights, Dromore, appeared last Wednesday at a sitting of Craigavon Magistrates Court.

The charges against him allege that on September 19, September 7 and September 7 this year, for the purpose of obtaining sexual gratification, he was in communication with three different females.

He is also charged with meeting a child on September 7 following sexual grooming.

A police officer told the court she was aware of the facts and circumstances of the case in question and believed that she could connect the defendant to the various charges.

A public prosecutor said that a full file was due on January 23.

The case against McCrea was adjourned until January 25.
