Insurance cancelled due to a payment problem court told

When a man produced a policy of insurance, checks revealed it had been cancelled due to a payment problem.

Wilfredo Rigoberto Urrea (32), Kernan Hill Manor, Portadown, was fined £350 last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for driving without insurance on August 11 this year.

He was also banned for six months. For not having a driving licence he was fined £100.

The court heard police stopped the defendant while he was driving on the Moy Road, Portadown.

Urrea confirmed ownership of the vehicle and produced a police which it transpired this had been cancelled on May 20 due to a default in payment.

He also produced a Chilean licence which was not valid.
