A 30 year old Dromore man has lost his licence after being caught drink driving.
The local court heard how Niall McCauley from Upper Quilly Road, Dromore was caught on the afternoon of April 23.
His solicitor Mr Downey said this was a case of being caught after drinking the night before.
A PPS Prosecutor explained how police observed McCauley at 2.24pm driving a blue Vectra at Primrose Gardens, Banbridge.
He appeared nervous and when police approached they could smell alcohol off his breath and his words were slurred.
He failed a breath test and when the charge was put to him he replied, “Thank you.”
Mr Downey said his client had been driving for 11 years and he was unemployed .
McCauley was banned for 12 months and fined £275 with an offender’s levy of £15.
If he successfully completes the drink drive offenders course his period of disqualification will be reduced to nine months.
