Care assistant was caught driving with no insurance
Last Thursday’s local court heard how Bridie Johnston (49) from Thorndale, already had six penalty points on her licence. In addition to the ban she was fined £300 and a £15 offenders levy.
Johnston came to the attention of police on 6 March when she was stopped on the A1. She attended Banbridge Police Station but was unable to produce an insurance policy that covered her.

Hide AdA solicitor said Johnston had acquired points for speeding. He said she had been driving to and from relatives who she cares for.
He said she had “simply forgotten” about her insurance but acquired cover the next day.Johnston was given 26 weeks to pay the fine.
