A 45 year old Banbridge man has been fined £300 and banned from driving for six months after appearing in the local court last week.

Brian Lyness from Edenderry Park, pleaded guilty to having no licence or insurance on January 2 this year.

The court heard how he was stopped driving a Nissan Almera at 5.15am on the date of detection.

Solicitor Mr Gillen said his client had no lift to work and his shift started at 6am, so he took his wife’s vehicle.

He was also ordered to pay an offender’s levy of £15.
