Animals poisoned in Portrush say police

POLICE have launched an appeal for information following the confirmed poisoning of five animals found dead in Portrush earlier this month.

The bodies of a dog, two cats and two crows were found in the Glenmanus area and removed for examination.

A police spokesman told The Coleraine Times: “It is believed that after a veterinary examination, all of the animals were poisoned during the incident.”

A cat called Fitz, reported missing by its owner, turned up safe and well and did not appear to be poisoned, police added.
