Consultation on future of NIFRS

NORTHERN Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) is issuing a final call to get the views of the public on its Draft Integrated Risk Management Plan (IRMP) that will shape the future provision of fire and rescue services across Northern Ireland, over the next three years.

The Public Consultation period will close on Wednesday 25th January 2012.

NIFRS wants to reduce the risk to the community from fire and other emergencies while at the same time deliver an affordable and sustainable service. Four draft proposals are contained within its Draft Integrated Risk Management Plan (IRMP) 2012-2015, which is essentially the Fire & Rescue Service’s approach to providing emergency cover across Northern Ireland.

Why does IRMP matter? Simply because public safety and community well-being has an impact on every single person in Northern Ireland and IRMP is about ensuring the best possible fire and rescue service available to protect everyone in the community.

The Draft IRMP Consultation Document can be downloaded from our website www.nifrs.org. Hard copies are available from the IRMP Team, NIFRS HQ, 1 Seymour Street, Lisburn, BT27 4SX; Tel 028 9266 4221; Email: [email protected].

A period of Public Consultation began on 26th October 2011. NIFRS would like to thank those who have responded to the consultation so far and is still keen to hear from those who may not have availed of the opportunity yet to help shape the future provision of their fire and rescue service.
