Aaron was the youngest child of Maurice and Wendy Macaulay.

A spokesman from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said the boy had fallen off a farm vehicle shortly before 2.30pm.

Due to the inaccessibility of the site, he had to be airlifted from the farm to Craigavon Area Hospital accompanied by two ambulance personnel.

Investigators from Northern Ireland’s Health and Safety Executive (HSE) are examining the circumstances of the incident.

A spokesman from the PSNI confirmed the boy had died.

“The death was due to a farming accident,” he said.

George Macauley is an elder at Drumgooland Presbyterian Church, which the family attended.

“Everyone in the district is just in a state of shock,” he said.

“Aaron was the youngest in a family of five.

They are very energetic members of our congregation.”

One of Aaron’s brothers may also have been injured during the incident.

Aaron is the third person to die on farms in the region in the last week.

Mr Macauley travelled to Craigavon Area Hospital where the boy was declared dead.
