Community Association launch Dervock Discovered

The ‘Association’ would like to formally invite the residents of Dervock and surrounding environment to the launch in Mandos at The North Irish Horse Inn, Dervock on Tuesday 16th August 2011 at 7.30 pm.

The content will be based on the Cultural Heritage Audit of Dervock, developed in partnership by volunteers from the local community and a professional researcher.

The project, ‘Dervock Discovered’ funded through the HLF ‘Your Heritage’ small grants programme will become a permanent reference source, a legacy for future generations.

Frankie Cunningham, Chairman of the Association explained: “We are delighted that local Author & Historian Alex Blair has agreed to provide a synopsis of the diverse culture and history of the village and surrounding area.

“So please come along - this is fantastic news for the village, take home with you a book that records the unique heritage/culture of your village. Light refreshments will also be available.”
