Co Down schoolgirls hit by car in '˜stable' condition

Two schoolgirls who were injured after being knocked down by a car in Banbridge are said to be in a stable condition.

Both children were taken to hospital after the incident yesterday afternoon, but a spokesperson for the Belfast Trust this morning described their condition as stable.

The Scarva Road was closed in both directions after the incident.
