Local MLA Jo-Anne Dobson and Upper Bann MP David Simpson said that they were delighted to see so many people supporting the annual event.

Mr Simpson said, “I want to congratulate everyone involved with this year’s Christmas Tree Festival - it was a pleasure to attend. Every tree told a different story and it was great to see a warm atmosphere as we enter the festive season.”

The local Ulster Unionist MLA Jo-Anne Dobson praised all the organisations involved with the festival.

Mrs. Dobson said: “Holy Trinity was so beautifully decorated this weekend and I was delighted to see hundreds of people attending the opening service alone, not to mention across the weekend.

“It was lovely to take the time to walk around all of the trees on display in the church from organisations across the town and to see the real care and attention which so many people had taken to decorate them.

“This was an excellent idea to help bring together so many local people to celebrate the real meaning of Christmas, and all for an excellent cause – to support the Church building fund and the wonderful work of our local Southern Area Hospice.

“I would also like to commend everyone who worked so hard to contribute to the festival, including all the marshals who worked tirelessly throughout the weekend.”
