The service was led by Megan Whan, who welcomed the congregation and guests.

Prayers and readings were by Melissa Whan and Victoria Bushby and eight-year-olds Ruby Bushby and Sarah Forsythe sang a duet ‘For I’m Building a People of Power.’ Sarah also played ‘Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star’ on the coronet.

During the offering, which was collected by Abbie Richardson and Matthew Little, Natalie Forsythe played ‘Tarentalla’ on the keyboard.

The entire Sunday School told the story of Zachaeus in drama, before giving a lovely rendition of ‘Zachaeus was a wee little man.’

Mrs Doris Hutton, wife of the minister the Rev Norman Hutton, presented the prizes to winners in the Denominational Sunday School Competitions where Sarah Forsythe picked up a second place for her bookmark and a second place for her model of Moses receiving the 10 Commandments.

Abbie Richardson and Nathan Little were awarded a third prize for their collage of the Wise Men visiting baby Jesus.

Mrs Hutton also presented prizes and certificates to all the members of the Sunday School, and Rev Hutton presented the Cup for Sunday School Attendance to Ruby Bushby and for Best Bible Knowledge to Sarah
Forsythe.

Karen and Abbie Richardson gave Sunday School Superintendent Mrs Carol McAllister a bouquet of flowers as a thank you from all the children in the Sunday School – and their parents – for her commitment and dedication week after week.

The Sunday School is now off for the summer and will resume in September.
