Charged with assault on male

Hugh Smyth, The Spires, Dromore, is accused of common assault on a male on April 16 this year.

A police officer said she was aware of the facts and circumstances of the case and believed she could connect the accused to the charge.

A solicitor representing Smyth said the charge would be contested.

The case was adjourned until May 25 to fix a date for the contest.

Smyth was released on his own bail of £250 with the conditions that he has no contact with the injured party or another named female.

He also has to stay out of two named areas of Dromore and he is not to be under the influence of alcohol in a public place.
