She began her teaching career in Ballysillan Primary School in north Belfast before moving to Crumlin Primary.

Mrs Hall said she was looking forward to her new position.

She told the Carrick Times: “I am delighted to have been appointed as the new principal of Carrickfergus Central Primary School.

“Crumlin Integrated Primary School was very much at the heart of the community with a great family ethos and that is what attracted me to Carrickfergus Central when I first visited the school – it felt like a home from home.

“I look forward to growing the school in the local community and ensuring that each child has the best possible educational experience enabling them to reach their full potential.”

Mrs Hall said her immediate priority for the start of the new term is to get to know staff, pupils and parents.

“Central Primary School is a good school and has been part of the local community for over 60 years. I am very excited about becoming a part of that and building on it in the years to come,” Mrs Hall concluded.
