Carers have told the Patient and Client Council that while looking after someone with a mental illness or learning disability is undoubtedly challenging, it’s also a very worthwhile and fulfilling role, and one which requires support from others.

Project Co-Ordinator, Nigel Warburton explained: “Every carer is entitled to a carer’s support and needs assessment through their local Health and Social Care Trust. A carer’s assessment looks at the needs of the carer, not the person they care for.”

If you are a carer and would like to take part in a confidential, one-to-one telephone interview, call Nigel on 07789554083 or email [email protected]
