Car '˜too powerful for defendant to handle' local court is told

When a car pulled out at a junction the rear end skidded out into the road and over the white line

Marca Lukasz Machcinski (22), Millview Close, Richhill, was fined £250 last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for driving without due care and attention. He was also given four penalty points. A £90 fine was imposed for not having a vehicle test certificate.

On March 5 this year at 1.40am in William Street, Lurgan, a car was seen coming out of a junction. Its back end skidded out.

A solicitor said this was a powerful car and was more powerful than hethe defendant could handle. His client had since sold the car.

The solicitor said the offence happened late at night and there was no risk to anyone. He was the holder of a provisional licence and there were seven points on his licence. District Judge, Mr Mervyn Bates, said it time the defendant took the driving test and he had been a ‘whisker away’ from a disqualification.
