• All of the free spaces in Car Park A will be closed from Friday to Sunday inclusive.

• All of the paid spaces in Car Park A will be closed on Saturday and Sunday.

• The staff pay car park will be closed on Saturday and Sunday.

The area will be cordoned off to allow for resurfacing, relining and trunking, as part of the £1 million project to improve the hospital site.

Esther Gishkori, Director of Acute Services for the Southern Health and Social Care Trust said: “Local people will appreciate just how busy the Daisy Hill site is and as demand on our services continues to increase it is essential that we continually improve our facilities to ensure they are fit for purpose and safe for people to use.

“These external improvements are the latest development in our ongoing programme of modernisation for the hospital.

“We greatly appreciate the patience and co-operation shown by staff, patients and visitors throughout the works and have planned this quite significant part of the project for the weekend when it is less busy.

“We appeal to staff, patients and visitors to allow plenty of time when coming to the hospital particularly on Friday 4th March for parking and perhaps consider taking public transport or leaving your car at home and getting dropped off if at all possible. We would also suggest - to make it easier for visitors to find parking, if they can wait to come to the evening visiting time rather than the afternoon.”

Work on the overall project is currently scheduled for completion by the end of March.
