Car burnt out at Derryadd

A car was discovered burnt out in the Derryadd area this morning (Wednesday, November 4).

Police in Lurgan received a report of a car on fire at Derrytrasna Road, Lurgan at 6.04am this morning.

NIFRS and police attended. The silver Volkswagen Passat was destroyed.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the fire and police would appeal to anyone who has information to contact them in Lurgan on 101, quoting ref: 132 041115.

Local SDLP Councillor Declan McAlinden hit out at the culprits: “Another act of inconsiderate violence in Derryadd, some family waking up this morning with no car, let’s hope they have no important hospital or work appointments today!

“These lowlifes have nothing to offer this society only grief and are a scourge on our community!”
