Call for a stop to boy racers

Residents living in the vicinity of Banbridge town centre have called on police to take action on ‘boy racers’, who are roaring around the town in the early hours of the morning.

Locals have taken to the Facebook page Saints and Sinners to vent their frustrations,

Carole Kerr said: “Boy racers up the town at 1.30 this morning, burning rubber! Have heard them a few nights now, not on!”

The problem seems to span out to the Scarva Road, with the industrial estate also being mentioned.

“They do the same up the Scarva road and donut round the roundabout. Really annoying” said Serina McCordick.

Banbridge PSNI are currently investigating the problem. Meanwhile Carole has appealed to the young drivers to move on.
