Cadets showcase First Aid skills

TEENAGERS from Banbridge have been showcasing their First Aid skills at a major regional competition where their skills earned them recognition and an impressive haul of silverware.

The hard-fought First Aid competition is an annual challenge, organised by the Arny Cadet Force Association and held at Palace Barracks in Holywood.

Cadets are put through their paces with a series of demading scenarios set up by highly experienced Army medics and judged by representatives of the British Red Cross.

Emerging victorious after a tough day of assessment, Cadet Lance Corporal Alistair Douglas from Banbridge won the honours as Best Individual and is pictured receiving his commemorative trophies from retired Brigadier Ian Osborne OBE, DL.

Brigadier Osborne was also delighted to present Awards to the winning Army Cadet Force team from Banbridge including Alistair Douglas with his Cadet colleagues, Cadet Lance Corporal David Douglas, Cadet Lance Corporal William Clackett and Cadet Lance Corporal James Hughes.
