Deputy Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, Councillor Catherine Seeley has urged local business to engage with a Free procurement seminar organised by the Council in conjunction with InterTrade Ireland and Central Procurement Directorate (CPD).
The events will be on Tuesday 8 March and Monday 14 March.
Cllr Seeley said, “Council in its own right is a major economic driver with a multi-million pound purchasing ability and it is only right and proper that we give local business the opportunity to apply for contracts. The free seminars will cover information and invite new businesses to register on the eTendersNI portal in order to supply the Council and the wider public sector, including central government departments.
“The Councils collaboration will allow businesses to hear first-hand from InterTrade Ireland, CPD and Council’s procurement officers about the opportunities to become a supplier.”
Concluding, the Deputy Mayor said, “I would encourage business to explore the opportunities available to do business with their local council.”
There are three information sessions for local businesses to attend on Tuesday 8 March in Banbridge Old Town Hall from 8.30am to 10.00am, Tuesday 8 March in Craigavon Civic Centre from 6.30pm to 8.00pm and on Monday 14 March from 8.30am to 10.00am in the Market Place Theatre, Armagh.
Places on the workshops are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
