Upper Bann MP David Simpson has welcomed the commitment of the Government and the Department of Enterprise Trade and Investment to push faster Broadband services further into rural areas.
The Upper Bann MP said he was given assurances that already over 80% of premises throughout the UK had superfast broadband with that set to increase to 95% by 2017.
Mr Simpson said “I am contacted regularly by rural dwellers and businesses alike regarding poor broadband speeds.
“To my constituents living in Scarva, Donaghcloney and surrounding areas I have received assurances that work will be completed in your area by the end of the year.
“There is also a scheme delivered through the Borough Council that provides vouchers of up to £3000 for businesses, charities and social enterprises who meet the eligibility criteria.
“I would invite anyone who would like any more information on this to contact my constituency office on 028 3833 2234.”
