Blood cancer sufferer Mickey Ferry backs #99redballoons

The charity has been visiting iconic landmarks around Northern Ireland to represent the 99 people who are diagnosed with a blood cancer, such as leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma every month in the province.

Mickey was diagnosed with leukaemia in 2002 and has been in remission since 2008.

Meanwhile, Leukaemia and Lymphoma NI’s sponsored walk in Londonderry in March raised a grand total of £2,437.

On Saturday, March 21, over 70 participants turned out for the charity’s annual sponsored walk in Londonderry.

The weather stayed dry and people of all ages got together and walked the two bridges of Londonderry.

The walk was organised in partnership with our Strabane Fundraising Group and raised.

The charity thanked Sainsbury’s for kindly letting it use its cafe and being so hospitable and the Order of Malta who ensured everyone got round safely.
