It will be a vibrant hub presenting diverse cultural experiences for residents and visitors to the Council area.

The aim is to provide a place where people can experience artistic and educational programs in innovative ways. This is an ongoing project which has great success in the permanent Box creative shop space in Portstewart.

The shop has been animated with many events throughout the year including a children’s summer drama club, a year round weekly adult’s drama club, Halloween Film Screenings, Fun Palaces (a nationwide celebration of arts and sciences), Silver Sunday Celebration of Older People, play readings and rehearsals, film making, and as a studio space for artistic development.

The shop has allowed them to engage school children in unique arts projects in their towns. They engaged six schools from Ballycastle and Rathlin Island and two schools in Strabane. These children came to the shops for arts activities ranging from making devised theatre to making murals.
