Stuart Draffin, director and head of agency at commercial property agents Lambert Smith Hampton, which has been instructed to sell the property, said: “We are already encouraged by the level of interest towards the hotel being shown by both local operators and those from further afield.”

The landmark estate, owned by the Bonar family, is a prized asset in Banbridge with its eight acres of mature woodland.

The site also has planning permission for housing. A prospective buyer may wish to continue operating the hotel, while using land for housing.
