‘BanD’ – the Banbridge and Dromore Fundraising Group for Marie Curie Cancer Care – invite you to join them on Saturday May 12 for their first ‘Blooming Great Tea Party’ to be held in the Gate Lodge of Whyte’s Estate, Loughbrickland.

It promises to be an event with a real family atmosphere, there is something for everyone!

Why not join the Treasure Hunt – go for a walk around the woodland and find the hidden letters. Unravel the hidden word to enter our free competition - to be in with a chance to win a much-prized Marie Curie teddy bear or a family cinema pass.

Once you’ve worked up a thirst (or don’t want to go for a walk) join us in the Gate Lodge for a cup of tea and a biscuit. Relax while the kids enjoy themselves as Iveagh’s Smart Car supplies the entertainment.

Do you have green fingers? ‘BanD’ are putting the ‘green’ back into ‘greenery’ with our plant stall! If you have excess of a favourite plant or two, then please bring it along on the day and donate it. Maybe you’ll see a plant that you want…

All they ask is that on the day you will help the group by making a donation to Marie Curie Cancer Care.

And maybe you’d like to find out how to host your very own Blooming Great Tea Party…

As little as £20 helps make a big difference: One hour of a Nurse’s time costs the charity £20 and is free to the patient and their family.

Marie Curie Nurses provide free nursing care to cancer patients and those with other terminal illnesses in the comfort and privacy of their own homes. Marie Curie nurses are available 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year – traditionally they spend a full eight hour shift with each patient usually overnight. This service is completely free to the patient and their family.

This year alone Marie Curie Cancer Care will provide care for more than 1,500 people in Northern Ireland. However, the demands for Marie Curie’s services increase each year and for every family we help, there is another that we can’t help. Every hour of care provided costs the charity £20, so you can see just how valuable your support is! Help us to reach more people who are terminally ill, allowing them to spend precious time at home with their families.
