Banbridge women are a hit on Ladies Day

Banbridge beauty Nicole Caldwell beat her mother and sister past the post in the style stakes and walked away with the title of Down Royal’s Best Dressed Lady, wearing a tailored tweed ensemble.

The prize for Best Dressed will see Nicole jet off with a fully paid-up, luxury trip for two to Dubai– including a once-in-a-lifetime visit with hospitality to the world-famous Meydan racecourse.

Nicole, with her sister Stacey and their mother, Angela, were among the many stylish race goers at Down Royal Racecourse on JNWine.com Ladies Day, Saturday, November 2, as hundreds of sartorially savvy ladies turned out in their race day finery.

There wasn’t a wardrobe malfunction in sight as racegoers’ vibrant outfits and extravagant headgear provided the splash of colour and style at the Lisburn based racecourse.

Head pieces, hats and fascinators were all welcomed at Down Royal as racegoers filled through the turnstiles to enjoy the thrill of the race.

Guest judges included Bairbre Power, Fashion Editor at the Irish Independent and Vogue Williams, Irish model and DJ and wife of former Westlife star Brian McFadden were on hand to help make the difficult decision as to who would be named Best Dressed.

With elegant autumnal ensembles including tweed, fur and intricate woollens mixed with splashes of colour and fabulous accessories taking the lead in the style stakes, the judges had a tough decision crowning their winner.

Local lady Angela Caldwell from Banbridge caught the judges eye and was chosen as a runner up in the Best Dressed competition winning a voucher from top restaurant Mourne Seafood Bar.

Angela’s two daughters Nicole and Stacy also ramped up the glamour for this year’s festival as the fashionistas joined their mother to show off their style.

Lisburn lady, Elaine Waterworth was also among the many stylish race goers.

Elaine from The Maze caught the judge’s eye and was chosen as a runner up in the Best Dressed competition winning a voucher from top restaurant Mourne Seafood Bar.
