Banbridge man on intimidation charge

Andrew Trevor Williamson, Ashgrove Avenue, Ballyvally, Banbridge, appeared in the dock last Thursday at the local magistrates’ court for a preliminary enquiry.

It is alleged that between January 26, 2013, and January 31, 2013, he attempted to intimidate a witness and during the same period attempted to pervert the course of justice by trying to deter potential witnesses from co-operating with the police.

Williamson also faces a charge of conveying a mobile phone into Banbridge custody suite on January 30, 2013.

Williamson, in custody on other matters, was remanded to appear for arraignment at Newry Crown Court on September 15.
