Kevin Dale (28), Beechlands, Banbridge, admitted unlawful possession of a class C drug, Diazepam, on August 18 last year when he appeared in court last Thursday.

The court heard how a police mobile patrol in Banbridge at 7.45pm carried out the search of a car in which Dale was the rear nearside passenger.

When interviewed later by police Dale made a full admission.

District Judge, Mr Paul Copeland, said the defendant had 22 previous convictions and his record was becoming concerning.

He adjourned the case until February 12 so that a specific sentence report could be prepared to see if Dale was suitable for community service.
