Banbridge to go pink for Action Cancer

Banbridge will look pink for Action Cancer, on October 3 with all kinds of interesting decorations around the town and in the shop windows.

There will be a prize for the best Pink Window display and already many traders are already planning their windows.

The event is organised by Banbridge Action Cancer, who would like to thank the town traders for the fantastic enthusiasm in planning raffles, pink days and coffee mornings.

The Action Cancer Big Bus mobile screening service will be at the Leisure Centre that day while all the Paint the Town Pink events will be taking place.

Members of the Banbridge Action Cancer Group have been working hard over these past few months and are pleased to see their plans all coming together for what promises to be a fantastic weekend.

Expect to see some out on the street on Friday 2October with their creatively decorated pink buckets.

You are asked to drop into their Pop Up Shop in Newry Street that will be selling handbags, scarves and jewellery.

The shop will also be open on Saturday, October 3 when most of the activities will be taking place. The day will begin with a Coffee Morning and entertainment in The Olde Townhall, Scarva Street starting at 10am.

At 11am the Big Pink Walk of Love will be held at The Olde Townhall.

To obtain a registration form for this Walk you are asked to visit the Face Book page and send them a note of your email address.

Registration is £10 and a sponsor form is optional.

They have had a lot of interest from various sports and fitness groups for this so if you belong to a group, why not get everyone involved.

Pink is the dress theme with a fabulous prize of an overnight stay for two in one of the Hastings Hotels as first prize for the best Pink outfit. Men, women and children will be welcome. Children go free.

Bannside Church car park is the venue for the Vintage, Classic and Rally car display and if you would like to register for this event please contact Mairead on 07708879379.

There will also be lots of musical entertainment booked for the street but there is room for lots more so, if you play an instrument, sing, dance or have any other entertaining talent you are asked to get in touch with them on their Facebook page.
