Banbridge Council to offer free taster training sessions for businesses at Gallery in the town

BANBRIDGE District Council is running a series of free taster training sessions for small independent retailers in Banbridge town centre in an effort to help them improve and expand their business.

The training sessions, which will be held at the F.E. McWilliam Gallery and Studio and start on Thursday 1 March from 6pm to 8pm, will run every Thursday at the same place and time for six weeks.

They will focus on all aspects of retailing and provide practical solutions to help business owners and their staff to deliver the highest standard of service to their customers.

A wide range of topics will be covered including customer service, sales powered by service, frontline management, buying and visual merchandising, driving sales through marketing and retail business planning.

The taster training sessions will act as introduction to a wider series of retail masterclasses inspired by leading retail marketing consultant, Mary Portas.

They will prove very beneficial to any business and those wishing to follow on with the retail masterclasses can do so at the Southern Regional College in Newry.

If this pilot project is successful, it is anticipated it will be repeated again later in the year.
