Ballyoglagh Lodge honour two stalwarts

TWO faithful members of the Orange Order have been honoured at a function in the Causeway Hotel, Bushmills.

Between them, John Gault (pictured top right) and John Taggart (bottom picture left) have both served Ballyoglagh LOL 1190 for close to a century and their work as officials of the Lodge was recognised by senior members of the Order.

John Gault has served as secretary for the Lodge for some fifty years and John Taggart has been treasurer for some 30 years.

They have carried out their duties in an efficient manner and because of their dedicated service each was presented with a gift to mark the occasion.

Bro. Gault was presented with an inscribed Rose Bowl by the County Grand Master, Bro. Joe Gaston (pictured left), while Bro. Tommy McAllister, the Worshipfuol District Master of Bushmills,)(pictured bottom right) handed over an inscribed Bible to Bro. Taggart.

Both men were highly praised for their contributions down the years.

Speaking afterwards, Bro. McAllister said: “Bro. Gault and Bro. Taggart have not only contributed a great deal to the Lodge, but to the Order in general with their loyalty and commitment.

“This is a fine achievement and it is right that they should be honoured. They have set a fine example to the Orange Order and we hope they can continue with their duties for a long time to come.”

Tributes were also paid by Bro. Gaston and by Bro. James McConaghie, the W.M. of Ballyoglagh, (in both pictures centre) with Bros. Taggart and Gault suitably responding.
