Aughnacloy man called officer a f*****g b***b*g

Patrick Francis Tierney, 33, of Dungannon Street, Aughnacloy was charged with disorderly behaviour and obstructing police.

A Court heard how police attended an address in the early hours of December 26 following a report of a domestic incident.

When police arrived they found the defendant who had injuries to his face.

When police attempted to arrest the female, Mr Tierney attempted to prevent police doing so and became aggressive.

Police told Mr Tierney to calm down on a number of occasions but he refused calling an officer ‘a f*****g b***b*g’.

Mr Tierney told police he had called them as he and his partner had been drinking heavily and a row broke out and he wanted police to calm the situation down.

A defence solicitor for Mr Tierney told the court he was in a highly intoxicated state at the time of the incident.

District Judge John Meehan imposed two fines of £100 for each of the charges and ordered him to pay a further £15 offenders levy to the courts.
