Arrest afterman shot in hand outside pub

A man has been arrested in Donegal after a man was shot in the hand outside a function in a Londonderry pub on Wednesday, September 2.

Detectives in Londonderry are investigating the shooting incident which occurred in the car park of licensed premises on Northland Road.

A man aged in his 30s suffered an injury to his hand at around 8.30pm after a firearm was discharged following a function at the premises.

He was taken to hospital for treatment and discharged a short time later.

Inspector Tony Moore said: “Detectives are following a definite line of enquiry and are appealing for anyone who noticed a grey coloured Volkswagon Passat in the Northland Road area at the time of the incident to contact Strand Road on 101.”

A grey coloured Passat was stopped in Donegal by Garda officers a short time after the incident and one man was arrested.
