Armed robbery at shopping centre

POLICE in Magherafelt are appealing for witnesses to come forward following an armed robbery in a shopping centre in Market Street last Wednesday afternoon (October 31).

At around 2.10pm, a man entered a shop armed with a knife, carrying a plastic bag.

He demanded an employee to put money from the till into the bag. It is believed that the man made off with a sum of cash from the shopping centre to King Street Chapel car park.

No-one was injured in the incident but the employee was left shaken by the ordeal.

The man is described as young, between 5’8” and 5’10” tall, and of slim build. He was wearing a white scarf over his face, a white hooded top and dark tracksuit bottoms.
