Anything good to do in Cookstown this weekend?

As the festive season gets in to full flow, there are opportunities galore to enjoy a range of events taking place in Cookstown over the next week.

At the Burnavon theatre Carol and Jimmy’s Christmas Cracker takes over on Thursday, December 11 at 8pm.

But a wee birdie tells the Mail that tickets are like gold-dust, so if you want to go, get on the ball.

On Saturday night the highly acclaimed Christmas Country Showtime with the stars is to take centre stage this Saturday, Dec 13, for its tenth year at the Burnavon.

Headlining the concert will be Tipperary girl Louise Morrissey, who will be joined by Kildare’s Tom Cooper to sing hits from the likes of Joe Dolan and Vince Gill.

Local country singer Shauna McStravock, yodelling star Kenny Archer, singer Joe Moore and Country Harmony will also share their talents on stage.

Tickets for the event, which starts at 8pm, cost £16.50.

Meanwhile, a free Christmas Craft Fair is to take place at the Greenvale Hotel in Cookstown between 10am-4pm this Sunday, Decemeber 14.

As well as facepainters, sweet and chocolate stalls, scents, hampers, plaques, clothes, shoes and jewellery on sale - Santa will be making an appearance between 2-4pm and there will also be a huge raffle each day.

And proceeds are in aid of Cancer Research.
