Another successful year for Legion women

DROMORE’S Royal British Legion Women’s Section completed another successful year and members were delighted to receive awards for their efforts.

At the Northern Ireland conference the group won the Lady Stronge Cup for Achievement, a highly sought-after silver cup, and any branch lucky enough to win it is considered to indeed have every reason to be proud. The group also won a certificate for the branch which contributes most per member to funds.

At the National Conference the group again received a certificate of merit for donating the largest amount to the National Schemes of the women’s section in a small branch.

At present the group has 15 members and is possibly one of the smallest branches, but it is fortunate in that the members work hard to raise money and the general public is always supportive towards their fundraising needs.

The group will be having a Christmas hamper again this year and hopes, as always, to earn the support and generosity of the public.
