Annual Fair Day in August

THE monthly meeting of Markethill Horse and Pony Driving Club was held in The Village Inn on July 18.

Final arrangements were made for the Annual Show night on August 1 on Main Street from 6:30pm.

There will also be in-hand showing, and classes for children. Entries will be taken on the night and the club would encourage all those who can to come along. The chosen charity is Macmillan Cancer Care.

Final arrangements were also made for the annual Fair Day on Saturday August 18. The day will open with the usual parade of horses and ponies and vintage horse drawn vehicles as well as vintage tractors, cars, and lorries which will be led by a steam engine.

Live music will be provided by The Brook Boys, Markethill Fiddlestick Orchestra and Derek Ryan and his band.

Stall holders who wish to attend should send their details and the size of their stall to Betty Stewart at 84 Gosford Road, Markethill, BT60 1RH when permits will be issued.
