Anne’s 100 years young

LOUGHGIEL lady Anne McKillop, celebrated her 100th birthday last Friday at Rathmoyle Residential Home in Ballycastle surrounded by family, friends and staff.

Miss McKillop, one of eight children, was born in her childhood home in Corkey in 1911 and lived a full life.

On her birthday she received best wishes from many well-wishers including a card from Her Majesty the Queen and a letter from Irish President Mary McAleese.

Anne who is known for her generosity, being good natured and easy going grew up in Loughgiel and worked for many years as a machinist in the Cloughmills Factory.
