Academy pupils go digital

Students from Banbridge Academy were excited to be taking part in the Digital Teen Programme getting hands-on with the latest gadgets as they explore careers in the digital industry.

The Digital Teen Programme is part funded by Invest Northern Ireland and the European Regional Development Fund under the Sustainable Competitiveness Programme for Northern Ireland.

The students took part in an interactive session where industry experts offered insight into the digital industry and the opportunities for employment and enterprise in the sector.

Local tech companies Isotrope Web Technologies, Kuba Creative and ER Media along with the Northern Ireland Science Park all brought volunteers along on the day to bring the digital industry to life.

More than 300 students were also able to get hands-on with the latest digital technology at the Digital Teen Programme exhibition completing a series of tech tutorials getting their first experience of coding, game design, programming and app development.

The Digital Teen Programme is organised by South Eastern Economic Development (SEED) and is delivered by local charity Young Enterprise Northern Ireland.

Young Enterprise is currently recruiting volunteers to get involved with the Digital Teen Programme.
