The retailer’s first store in Banbridge, the 21,500 sq ft unit in Bridgewater Retail Park at Cascum Road, is the end result of a £500,000 investment.

Saturday’s opening will feature a special appearance from children’s favourite Stuart, from Universal Pictures’ movies Minions and Despicable Me.

“We’re thrilled to be launching our first store in Banbridge and look forward to welcoming new customers through the doors,” said Home Bargains’ operations director Joe Morris. “Bridgewater Retail Park will be a great location for us and we’re pleased to be a new addition to the local business community.

“We’re proud to be able to offer local people top-branded goods at exceptionally low prices.”

Adjacent to Tesco and opposite The Outlet, the new store, one of some 50 opened annually by the discount retailer, joins a network of more than 400 across the UK, 18 of them in Northern Ireland.
