The 1998 bomb recalled in pictures

In August 1, 1998, a bomb planted by the Real IRA exploded. Thirty-three people were injured and the heart of Banbridge was destroyed.

However like a phoenix from the ashes, the town rallied and 15 years on Banbridge has emerged stronger than ever, thanks to its citizens. This month marks the 15th anniversary of the explosion. Here in pictures, the Leader recalls that fateful day and its impact in pictures.
